NEW IN: BOOTS

wedges - Stradivarius, boots - local market Spain

I'm in desperate need of black boots this whole winter season, but with my big journey coming up I have to save all my money and I couldn't find a nice pair I can afford. Untill now. I found the one with the wedges on final sale and they're just what I need. Only the next day I fell in love with the coloured ones on the local market. 

€5,-.

   For that amount, I could not leave them behind. So now I'm the proud owner of 2 pairs of new boots! What do you have to say about that?

I'm on a family holiday at my parents place in Spain and the weather is so, so sweet! It's nice to be with all my (step)brothers and -sisters for a whole week and enjoy this perfect place together (and I love to wear some of my summer clothes again, like this cute, cut out peplum!). I forgot my sunglasses at home, but thank God for 5 minutes extra transfer time and an 'I am'-shop at the station! How do you like 'm?

Today my boyfriend is flying in and I can't wait to pick him up at the airport! ♥

LIFE: DIARY 05

I love to read diary posts on other blogs. It's cool to have a peek in someones personal life! I love to make my own too. It's a little review of the past few days/weeks and most of the time full of fun moments. So here's another, #5. And this is what you're looking at: 

Wearing something else than the green beanie that has been glued to my head this winter. Almost forgot I had this headband, a birthdaygift from my brother + girlfriend 2 years ago. And I'm really fond of it! // my girlsfriend Christels son, the LOVE of my life! he's getting bigger and bigger and he seems to be more cute and handsome everytime I see him. ♥ // chocolate mousse & raspberries, perfect dessert combo! // girlsnight out. had so much fun, but I felt hungover for the rest of the week, hihi! :) // extremely tired... that hangover? //  bringing some spring to the house with a few tulips. research revealed this week that the Netherlands still renowned for our tulips and tolerance // what I was wearing on a sick day (after being vaccinated). fun socks, huh? // this picture of me and my friend Irene was taken on the companies new years party. it was shown on the Intranet last week, hihi. I'm only there for 6 months, but I'll make sure they'll never forget me! ;)

It's almost impossible to take outfit pictures on a windy day like the day I shoot this pictures! While taking them I was afraid my camera would fly across the yard... But well, here they are, the best of the worst. 

This sweater isn't originally at all. I'm usually not a copy cat, but I saw my friend Daisy in it and fell in love with it immediatly. It looks so warm and comfy! The perfect piece to travel around the continent in during my big South-American journey. I went and bought it the next day. 

I wore it when I was feeling bad last week and stayed in for a day. And I'm wearing it today, while travelling to Spain. Like I said: The perfect travel suit. Do you like it?

BEAUTY: SHOWPIECES

BB cream: Nivea, mascara - Maybelline, The Colossal , kohl pencil - Carice, eyeliner - Carice, lips - Vaseline Rosy Lips, rouge - Bourjois

I'm showing and telling about my life, my clothes and fashion a lot on my blog, but today I want to tell you a little about the fundamental of it all: My daily beauty routine. Every day I start the day with taking a shower, brushing my teeth, the normal things everyone does (well, most of the people...). I'm not a big fan of foundation, so I used to have Nivea Young's Control Shine as my daily base for years. But with me turning 30 this year - not so 'young' anymore - I decided to give the by-all-beloved BB cream a chance. And I have to say, I do like it. With my chronic lack of sleep, it's my new best friend: It makes my face look less pale and less tired. 

Then there are the eyes: my showpieces. I'm a natural blond with dark brown eyes and I think that's special. The only drawback is that my lashes are blond as well. I could not live without mascara! But first there are the eyebrows. I don't do much about them, I like 'm big. I do pluck from time to time, the stray hairs, and brush them in shape with an old mascara brush.  

Next step is marking my lower eyelid with a kohl pencil. An inner line (otherwise I look like a doll. ;)). On my upper eyelid I draw an eyeliner line. Sometimes a thick one, sometimes just a little along the lashline. It depends on my mood and the occasion. (Mood mostly. I can go to a party with just a little make-up on, and go to work with close-to-Amy-Winehouse-eyes). When I first started to use eyeliner I thought it was impossible to create a full, sharp line. But practice makes perfect and with some cotton swabs around it turns out just fine nowadays. 
Then at least two layers of mascara. Mascara is the only product where I take hold of the brand. There is so much difference in quality. I'm no brand loyal girl and I love to try out eveything that crosses my path, always looking for the bargains. But I have had so many bad ones that I decided to never change this winning team again. Maybelline or Maxfactor it is for me. 

I finish with some Vaseline Rosy Lips, to give my lips some colour & glow and take care of them at the same time. This stuff is so fine, I'm a little addicted to it! Smear, smear, every hour. But tell me, who's not? 

A little bit of light pink rouge on my cheeks at last, for a healthy appearance (there's the lack of sleep again) and I am ready to go!

All snow is gone and the temperature is rising. And I can't help longing for spring! I'll be missing most of spring this year though... I'll fly to Buenos Aires on May 5th and it will be autumn there by then! Time to bring a little light to February... The floral leggings and white shirt scream 'Spring!' and the cute birdie ring completes the picture. The purple scarf adds some warmth to this outfit. I hope this look sends a message to the weather gods: We're ready! Let the sun shine!
