OUTFIT: MOMO DAY 2

The second day of Momo started slow. Real slow. Although I hadn't feel that drunk Fridaynight, I was pretty hungover when I woke up! I promised Daisy several time that I'd go out of bed and get ready, to find myself still in bed 30 minutes later... :) But after a quick dinner at Daily Wok we were ready for another great night! We came together with our friends Mark and Stephen again and went to see Stornoway in Corso. Amazing what they do with all those different instruments. After that we wanted to go to Ethan Johns, but we were late and the church was packet... We decited to go grab a beer in a bar nearby until the next concert. And that next concert was the greatest of the whole weekend: Tangarine. Identical twins, from Holland, inspired by Bob Dylan and Simon and Garfunkel. We sat there and listened (and eat candysticks :)) while they sang and played guitar (they were tuning their guitars together before every song, in their own dinky way) and I felt so incredibly happy.

Thanks Dais! Not only for the weekend and the tickets, but for all the fun and always being there, and being the best friend in the world. I love you and I'm gonna miss you sooo bad!

This is what I was wearing at the first day of Motel Mozaïque. MOMO is an annual 2-day festival at Rotterdam. I wasn't able to go this year, because I have to save all my money for my 4 months trip to Latin America, but my darling Daisy bought me tickets by surprise. We went together last year and had the time of our lives. This year it was just as fun.
We kicked off in my old time favourite bar, Rotown, with the Night Beds. Then Nick Mulvay performed in a church, awesome! After that we saw a bit of Matthew E. White and we left him for Broeder Dieleman, in church again (what a perfect location). We did silly dances at the Young Dreams, and when we were walking to Rotown again for the afterparty we bumped in to this bum with a guitar. He sang for us and played. Forever young. And all together we gave him enough cash to buy liqor for a week.

NEW IN: FOR (a) CHANGE

shorts - Monki, wallet - New Look

I'm searching for a perfect high waist blue denim short for like forever, and last thursday I finally found it at Monki Rotterdam! I love love love that they're acid washed and they have a great fit. The perfect basic to take with me on my trip and wear like.. everyday. 

Another thing I had to have was a little wallet for change. I'll use a money belt for money, cards and papers while travelling, but I need something in my bag for when I go out too. And ain't this - cute, leather, white kitten with a heartshaped nose - one just perfect? Now hope they do not rob me! ;)

Yaaaay! All the insurance fuss in finally done, so I was able to buy myself a new camera! That same night I hit the garden and photographed my outfit. Now summertime has started, it's light 'till late and the weather man promised us rising temperatures. I'm looking forward to show off all my spring looks, right here on the blog!

Thursday night at my friend Christels house. I know her since forever, she's like family to me. It's always a pleasure to be with her, cuddling with her precious kid (Levi, love of my life!) and talk until late at night. A warm and familiar place.
This time she made me cannelloni with beef, spinach and cheese, yum! And I am wearing my flanel oversized checkered blouse with black jeans and pointy wedged booties.

LIFE: ITALIAN

Last Monday I had my friends Eline and Irene over for supper. I love to cook and I decided to make them a 3-course dinner. 

I started out simple: Tomatoes, mozzarella, some salt and black pepper and fresh basil.

To stay in the Italian atmosphere I went for pasta for the main course. This a recipe from my boyfriend, normally he's the one cooking when this dish is being served. But today I gave it a try. 

You need: 

* penne

* sundried tomatoes

* black olives

* dandelion salad

* fresh basil

* bacon 

* pine nuts

* parmesan cheese

How you make it: 

* boil the penne

* cut the sundried tomatoes and olives in pieces

* fry the bacon until it's crispy

* roast the pine nuts

* mix the salad with the basil. 

* add the penne

* add the sundried tomatoes, olives and pine nuts

* place the bacon on top

* finish it with (lot's of, I love cheese!) the parmesan cheese

Plain simple right? But delicious! 

I served some strawberries with chocolate mousse and whipped cream for dessert. I think dessert is the icing on the cake, the cherry on top of every meal.

TBT: NEW YORK

I'm adding a new item to my blog: Throwback Thursday.

Today it's about New York. I went there in October 2008 and again in June 2010 and it was so super  cool and amazing! I have never been in a city more overwhelming than New York. Just fabulous!

And what I was wearing in 2010: Pink ballerina dress by H&M divided, heartshaped glasses by H&M and a blue suede dress by Jimmy Choo for H&M.

Monday was a free day well spent. I catched up on some sleep, my friends Irene and Eline came over for dinner (more about that later on Friday!) and for lunch I went out for Dimsum with my BFF Desiree and her man. She's 4 months pregnant now, and so excited to be a mom! We talked about daycare and Bugaboos and babynames and pregnancy ultrasounds. And then it hit me: This is what my life will be like for the next couple of years. More and more of my friends are getting married or having babies. My girls are settling down with their loves. And I'm about to travel around the world with mine... I have no idea what my future will look like. How will I feel about travelling and being away for so long? Will we find a new job when we get back? Shall we settle down and move in together or continue our lives the way it was before? Or saving up for another big trip? And when will I become a mother? Do I have to hurry up, since I'll turn 30 this year?  

Existential questions I don't have the answer to. So for now I'll stay by my BF's answer to everything - 'we'll see' - and enjoy the things the way they come. 

Like sunbeams while wearing a hat!

This hat I got from my aunt. It was hers, but she loved it on me and gave it to me as a present. And that brings me back to Desiree's pregnancy: Fantasizing about and looking forward to the arrival of the baby. Maybe I'm not ready to have kids yet, but I sure love to be an 'aunt'!

LIFE: DIARY 10

I don't know if it's my stolen camera, or me being tired all the time, or the persistent cold and this never-ending winter, or me missing my boyfriend so bad, or being too busy preparing for my trip... but I'm not in the mood for blogging. And I'm far behind in reading the blogs that I like and inspire me. Sorry guys!

All I am doing is meeting my friends and family for dinners and party's, working and staying in bed watching all episodes of Snooki&Jwoww. And during the first I'm taking pictures. And that is what you are looking at.

All at my friends Neomies surprise party! 30 yeah! // ...going crazy... // I was laughing my ass off while seeing this dog. this large dog, with all her white hair and pink hairclip and leopard collar. so cool! // what I was wearing to the family reunion: leopard tights, booties and black oversized dress // me and my cousin at my brothers new apartment, just before the housewarming started. a beautiful apartment, with an amazing view. so proud of my little bro!
