Mauro Manuel

Ph source: Nu.nl

Mauro Manuel is a boy of Angolan origin. At the age of 8 he is put on theplane to the Netherlands by his mother. He finds himself in a whole new country, a world he does not know. At age 10 Mauro is recorded in a family from Oostrum. For these people Mauro their child, they are his parents. They try to adopt Mauro, Mauro's mother agrees to this in Angola, but the Netherlands refused. For Mauro  the Netherlands feel like home, he goes to school here and plays socker, speaks Dutch with a Limburg accent. He is part of a loving family. And now he is 18 years and he has to go.
Despite many protests from the people, by famous Dutch people, his family, and the opposition parties, the ruling parties VVD and CDA decided today that Mauro won't get a residence. Inhuman, if you ask me. You rip a child away from his parents to send him back to a country he does not know. If it is a decision according to law, is not it time very quickly that this law is changed? I am sincerely very sad ...

  1. It's so interesting to hear about immigration in the Netherlands. I've been reading about education in the Netherlands and am absolutely fascinated by its approach and success. Many articles I've read referred to tight immigration laws in the Netherlands helping the ease of teaching in the Netherlands. For example, in America, teachers struggle with many different speaking children in one classroom. This is just so interesting because it gives me a different perspective. There's always two sides of every story.
